poby, a new york based photograher goes on a journey in time across the USA with a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda and a 4x5 large format Linhof camera.
the images you see on this blog are just snapshots for the blog. the images shot with the 4x5 large format camera will eventually appear in a book later on.
for over ten years I used to drive a 1964 Volvo station wagon in Germany. after moving to New York in 2004 I always missed the beauty of old cars and the happiness you get while driving it. working in New York as a commercial photographer specialized in sports , people and under water, I always had the the dream to explore the United States on a road trip. It was clear from the very first moment that this project can only be done with a classic 60ies car, my old analog large format 4x5 linhof camera and a cool concept behind it.. after finishing the concept for this special book, I started to look for a car that totally matches. ten very fast and exciting days later I found it in Fort Smith/ Arkansas. the details on this beautiful story will be released later. the one way flight was booked for wednesday june 17th and this was when I did meet and then bought my new companion, the wonderful 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. the Barracuda is the so called competitor of the legendary Ford Mustang. it never became as famous as the Mustang and that's why its even more unique today. I am very excited and so grateful to be able to do this trip.
wikipedia description
Barracuda: Because of its sleek appearance and its predatory nature, the barracuda has come to symbolize speed, power, and viciousness. The Plymouth Barracuda, a muscle car, reflects this perception in its name.
